Since 2005, the Environmental Specimen Bank (ESB) collects and archives suspended particulate matter. This report summarizes the results of  the chemical and physico-chemical analyses of the years 2005 to 2009. The data are statistically evaluated and assessed..

Main topics of the 15th Magdeburger Gewässerschutzseminar, a yearly workshop on water protection, are suspended particulate matter and sediments of the river Elbe and its tributaries. A guided tour will visit the ESB sampling site Blankenese and demonstrate the operation of sedimentation box.
